Synopsis

When a man is found hanging from Belfast’s Lagan Bridge, the murder is a brutal echo of a forgotten paramilitary execution from 1972 — complete with the exact knots, the staged pose, and a turf-eagle placed beneath his tongue. The press dubs the killer “The Bogman.”

Called out of retirement from his isolated Mourne Mountains sheep farm is Eamon Fallon, a former RUC officer haunted by a shattered career. Partnered with Dr. Saoirse Quinn, a forensic archaeologist who understands that the ground of Ireland preserves its secrets better than any archive, Fallon is forced into a labyrinth of long-sealed files and sealed mouths.

As the bodies mount and the shadows of the past close in, Fallon realizes the killer is not his enemy — he is a former pupil of the same ruthless mentor, trying to finish a job Fallon himself started.
